The Coastal Division is a partner in the CREST project. CREST stands for Climate Resilient
Coast. In this project is sought the understanding of the physical processes (such as waves, tide and movement of the sediment) which take place in our coastal zone. Among other things, one wants to respond to international developments and anticipate the knowledge that will be required in the future in order to ensure a safe and pleasant coast. In addition, the unlocking of existing data necessary for research on the coast is needed. With the results of the project, other researchers and professionals will get to work in their area of expertise. The project group consists of expert scientists from three Flemish universities, various government services and consultancy. More information can be found on www.crestproject.be.
